I AM Poem

Cassady Heath ~ Future Educationalist

I AM FROM Boston and ZZ Top albums... and riding on the console of the Trans-Am.
I AM FROM Sesame street on Weekdays and Alvin & the Chipmunks on Saturday Mornings.
I AM FROM sunburns, popsicles, forts, green ghost and kick the can.
I AM FROM softball practice and slumber parties outside in the tent.

I AM FROM the oldest of three, all of us our own person.
I AM FROM daily chores and dinner at the table.
I AM FROM sandstone hikes, river fishing, cottonwood trees, and the love of chili.

I AM FROM keg parties out in Choke Cherry Canyon.
I AM FROM lifelong friendships that become part of the family.
I AM FROM losing friends to car crashes, freak accidents, and violence. A broken heart that has mended but not forgotten.
I AM FROM learning the hard way and forgiving myself for mistakes that I have made.

I AM FROM believing in LOVE, FAITH, FAMILY, and HEAVEN.
I AM FROM finding solace and forgiveness.
I AM FROM long braided hair hippies and community loving Americans.
I AM FROM inspiration to try and learn and succeed.
I AM FROM being educated to find my passion and do what I was created for.
I AM FROM treat all people equal. Respect humans, animals, and our Earth.
